HOWARD GLENN WILLIAMS memories
Glenn Williams was
born June 1, 1938. He graduated from East Carolina University and was
a successful accountant, serving as a partner of Arthur Andersen &
Co. Glenn's passions were his family, his church and civic causes. He engaged in many noteworthy civic causes and was noted for having help hundreds of at-risk children in Raleigh housing projects by establishing Community Learning Centers and Communities in schools in Wake County. He was also a leader in the State Communities in Schools Program, and the H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards were established in his honor
Glenn joined the Arthur
Andersen Company after a year of graduate studies at East Carolina University.
He became a partner of the firm and fulfilled his dream of opening an
office of the company in Raleigh where he served as managing partner.
He became a firmwide expert in healthcare industry accounting and organizational
issues and an authority on accounting standards. He was noted in his firm
and in the business community for professional integrity. Patsy, also a gradute of East Carolina University, was involved with Glenn in civic and community affairs in addition to being the mother of three children and operating her own consulting business.
Charles Edwards Williams
Chuck Williams graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in History. He attended the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University, and following completion of his medical studies, he was resident the Harry Truman Hospital in Kansas City. He has established a medical practice in Clayton, North Carolina. Chuck married Robin Cutrell. They are the parents of three sons, Noah, Wyatt, and Aiden.
Mark Bobbitt Williams Mark Williams graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel. He is a musician and musical producer.
Melanie Leigh Williams Melanie Williams graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked as a consultant to Christian and community organizations in Washington, D.C. and in Raleigh. She married Nevin Daryani. Nevin is a graduate of Western Carolina University and is employed with the Communities in Schools Program in state programming. They are the parents of a daughter, Addison Leigh, who was born in 2009.
