John David [J. D.] Williams

John David [J.D.] Williams was born on January 3, l930 in Wilson County. He became a successful businessman and church lay leader. He married Peggy Ann Calhoun of Rocky Mount in l950. They are the parents of two daughters, Marsha Ann Williams, born June 27, 1954, and Billie Jane Williams, born October 1, 1959.

J.D. was proud to have served his country in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of West Mount Baptist Church for 55 years where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, Trustee, Sunday School superintendent.

He loved singing in the church choir and in a Men's Quartet. He was member of the West Mount Ruritan Club, American Legion, and West Mount Firemen's Relief Fund. He had a special interest in the Gideons and was active for many years in supporting the Gideon program. J.D. loved to hunt and was a member of Pridgen's Gun Club.

He was a co-founder of M & W Used Parts, estabilished in l962. He retired in l992.

J.D. died on October 12, 2011 and is buried at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Obituary

 

Marsha Williams East

 

Marsha Ann Williams, daughter of J.D. and Peggy Williams, married Jimmy B. East in 1978. She and her first husband, Charles Nelms, are the parents of Lori Ann Nelms who was born October 17, 1973. Jimmy has a daughter, Torri, from his first marriage.

Billie Williams Jones

Billie Jane Williams married Brian Keith Jones. They are the parents of a daughter, Leslie Brooke

Jones who was born on August 23, 1989, and a son, Brandon Reid Jones, born September 21, 1992.

Brian, Lori and Grace

Lori Nelms married Bryan Bailey of Sharpsburg on August 24, 2004. Bryan is Operations Officer (S3) for the 489th Civil Affairs BN in Knoxville, TN.

Brian is a graduate of East Carolina University. Lori attended ECU where she studied nutritution and hopsitality management. She has an associate degree in occupational Therapy from Pitt Comunity College.

They are the parents of a daughter, Grace who was born in 2005 and a son, Jackson Cooper Bailey, born in 2008.
